LiDAR Scanning

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a laser scanning method that measures distance. LiDAR technology is capable of creating extremely accurate height maps of terrains and surfaces. Using publicly available LiDAR scans of Ontario, we can create 3D models of entire cities accurate to the metre. These maps are capable of scanning through buildings and trees as well, thus an extremely accurate height map of the terrain of a city.
